Fahad Alrajaan is a Kuwaiti businessman who continues to reside in the Gulf state with his wife and four children.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Washington DC’s American University. He has held numerous offices throughout his career, including the following:

·         Issues Department Manager at Kuwait Investment Company (1975 to 1982)
·         Deputy Chairman of the Industrial Bank of Kuwait (1980 to 1987)
·         Board Member of Pargesa Holdings (1982)
·         Board Member of Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (1982)
·         Chairman of the Egyptian Gulf Bank of Cairo (1982 to 1986)
·         Managing Director and Chairman at Kuwait Real Estate Investment Consortium (1981 to 1984)

Fahad previously served with a number of organisations. He is a Board Member of the National Industries Company of Kuwait, Chairman of the Wafra Investment Advisory Group of New York, Chairman of the Ahli United Bank of Bahrain and Director General of the Kuwaiti Public Institution for Social Security.

Some posts on this blog will talk about the Wafra Investment Advisory Group, which was founded in 1985. The group is owned by Wafra Capital Partners, its affiliate, and the Public Institution for Social Security, Kuwait. The Wafra Investment Advisory Group offers a wide range of services to its clients, including real estate, direct equity, structured products and portfolio services.

Since it was founded, the group has grown steadily, adding clients and expanding its range of services.

Another association this blog will discuss, Bahrain’s Ahli United Bank, was established in 2000 after a merger between Al-Ahli Commercial Bank and the United Bank of Kuwait. Ahli United Bank has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the JP Morgan Chase’s Elite Quality Recognition Award, Euromoney’s Best Bank in the Middle East Award for 2012 and Best Private Bank in Bahrain Award for the same year – and the Commerzbank’s STP Award for operational efficiency in international funds transfers.
